IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James E.
Rivieccio
October 23, 1955 – January 26, 2026
James E. Rivieccio, age 70, of Elmont, passed away on January 26, 2026.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 23, 1955, and moved to Elmont in 1983. Proudly self-taught, he worked in HVAC and enjoyed a long career as an IT consultant. He also served for 8 years as a volunteer fireman and EMT for the West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
James was a caring husband and father. He was always tinkering, and he could be found doing constant "home improvement"—he pioneered "open concept" before modern architecture, and doors remain a scarce commodity in his family's house. An avid fan of The Honeymooners, he never passed up an opportunity to crack a joke, and he loved to share laughter with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Georgina F. Rivieccio, with whom he exchanged many quips; three sons, Christopher Rivieccio and his wife Melissa, Salvatore Rivieccio, and Angelo Rivieccio; an older brother Michael Rivieccio and his wife Christine; a twin brother, Joseph Rivieccio and his wife Rita; and loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Donna Carotenuto.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, from 1–6p.m. at the Elmont Funeral Home, 1529 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont, NY 11003.
