Leona Belinfante

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to the incredible Mrs. Leona Belinfante who passed away on Wednesday January 1, 2025 in Sarasota Florida beloved wife, mother and grandmother at the age of 85 born in Panama City, Panama, Leona lived in New York for many years before retiring and moving to Northport Florida. Her obituary is a testament to the wonderful life she lived and the impact she had on those around her. Leona was not just a legal secretary at Fox Horan & Camerini prior to retirement she was a beacon of positivity, kindness, and generosity in a world that often needs it most. Her sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her, and her unwavering spirit was truly one of a kind. Leona was an ambassador for the North Port Library while bring very involved in politics were you would often see her as a volunteer at the voting polls along with her Mondays volunteering at Meals and Wheels nonprofit organization that delivers meals to the elderly that are homebound.

Let us remember her with love and inspiration, cherishing the memories we shared and holding her in our hearts forever. Leona’s legacy lives on through her daughter Gisela (gigi)and grandchildren Alexis, Gabriella, Nathaniel Carlos, and Mia Desiree .It is clear that they will continue to honor her memory by living their lives to the fullest, just as she always encouraged them to do. As stated weeks ago to her daughter and grandchildren “Its your time now”.

The celebration of Leona's life at Elmont Funeral Home 1529 Hempstead Turnpike Elmont NY is sure to be a beautiful tribute to a remarkable woman. Mrs. Leona Belinfante may no longer be with us, but her spirit will always be alive in those whose lives she touched.
