In Memory of Magali Previl
Magali "Maggie" Pervil {nee Leveque} was born in Port au Prince ,Haiti on December 9,1957. She was the youngest child of
Pierre and Manise Leveque.
In early 1960s, she and her family moved to Bushwick in Brooklyn ,N.Y. Once there she and her siblings attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School- her faith remained a major source of her strength through her life
Maggie attended St. John's University but ultimately transferred to Hunter College to study Economics. It was while attending Hunter College that she meet Lyonel Previl and they married in 1983.Together, they welcomed three children. Maggie's love for dancing kept both light on their feet-Magail and Lyonel would frequently attend classes ,and, together, glide effortlessly on the dance floor At many family functions.
Maggie realized her passion for travel by touring many US States , going to Haiti several times ,visiting France Canada Mexico and also cruising to various locales. She planned to travel to South Korea next as she enjoyed Korean Dramas and wantecto experience the culture in person. In addition to traveling, she enjoyed bringing people together . Maggie took great pleasure in Planning family retreats and reunions, and opened the door to her home for every holiday. COVID did not slow her down: Maggie hosted weekly Zoom drop-ins, ensuring that her family stayed together to celebrate life events big and small. She will be remembered as someone with great sense of humor and infectious laugh.
She worked for TIAA, CREF as an Insurance Underwriter and as a NYPS MIddle School Teacher, specializing in Science. Also, she was active in her church at both St. Marti of Tours and St. Boniface.
