Marie Romain, a beloved mother and a kind soul, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 78, in a nursing home where she had spent her final days surrounded by healthcare workers who cherished her gentle spirit.

Born on January 28, 1947, in Haiti, Marie was the embodiment of love and kindness, traits that defined her life and resonated deeply with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. With a humble background that included basic education, she ventured into the world with a heart full of dreams and a spirit ready to uplift those around her.

Marie’s kindness knew no bounds. Her loving nature and warm smile brought comfort and joy to family, friends, and acquaintances. She dedicated her life to caring for others, often putting their needs ahead of her own. As a mother, she showed unwavering support and unconditional love to her sons, nurturing them with lessons of compassion and strength. The legacy of her kindness and loving spirit will forever live on through them.

As we gather to honor and celebrate Marie's life, we invite her friends and community to join in the mourning and remembrance. Visitation will be held at Elmont Funeral Home, located at 1529 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, NY, on December 20, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Following the visitation, a Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, located at 230-11 Linden Blvd in Cambria Heights, NY, beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM.
