With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, whose life was defined by hard work, love, and unwavering dedication to his family. At just 16 years old, he came to the United States from Kefalos, Greece, with courage and determination to build a better life. He began his journey working as a chef on cruise ships, traveling the world and experiencing places many only dream of. It was during his time in the restaurant industry that he met the love of his life, his beautiful wife Grace, with whom he built a life rooted in love and family. They were together for 45 years and married for 41.Together, they raised two children, Joseph Nikolaki and Kristina Maria, who were truly the center of his world and his proudest accomplishments. Everything he did was for his family, and his love for them was constant and unconditional. He was passionate about the simple joys in life—family gatherings, cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Rangers and the New York Yankees, and spending time in his garden. Every Mother’s Day, he lovingly planted flowers for his wife, a tradition that will be deeply missed but forever cherished. He took great pride in his tomato plants, a passion his children will continue in his honor. He also had a deep passion for cooking, a gift he shared with everyone around him. His kitchen was a place of love, and his rice pudding—known by all who tasted it as the best in the world—was a special tradition that will never be forgotten. He was also an avid bowler. His children also bowled alongside him on multiple leagues throughout the years, and as a family they proudly considered themselves “pro bowlers,” cherishing the time spent together on the lanes and the memories made there. He also loved playing cards and enjoyed horse handicapping, even celebrating a big win on his final bet before facing his health challenges with strength and resilience. Throughout it all, he showed what it truly meant to be the strongest man and a true fighter in this world. He will be remembered as a hardworking man, a devoted husband, and a loving father whose legacy lives on through his family, the values he instilled, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His love, strength, and spirit will remain with us always.
